Facebook! the most popular social networking site which have almost changed the way people interact with each other since its launch in 2004.Most of us do have Facebook accounts and use them more often.But recently, Facebook has reported that there are over 83 million Fake user accounts in its network.well datz a huge amount!
Why would people create fake facebook profiles?
- Shallow relationships: "lovers" testing and teasing each others, teasing by fake comments of fake profiles, testing each other by fake flirts or msgs!
- Monitoring: monitering people (students, employees ... ) lives by fake personalities!
- Business: forcing some business to grow by making it popular through many profiles!
- Revenge: broken people creating humiliating fake profiles for those who hurt them!
- Flirts: males creating profiles for females and vice versa.
- Some people are just sick: stupid pointless people like to fool around!
- Testers: some people like to try various things including account compromises so just create a temporary account,use it and leave it unattended after they are finished with.
- publishers:they use fake accounts to drive people to their website or any product.they just use it as a means of popularizing their stuff.
- Crazy friends!:some people create fake accounts,flirt with their classmate,or some other friend and then disclose those chats etc to others just to make fun of particular person.
Whatever the reason may be,a fake account is always annoying.so lets take some time to identify Fake accounts and stay away from them
Identifying typical Fake Accounts:
Looking too out of this world!:
Many Facebook fake accounts are made by teenagers who come into the 5th category of pople in the above list.And most of them are male users creating Female fake account.
- They use pictures of very beautiful Females in order to attract people.
- Has only one profile picture,sometimes two or three,but not more.
- Many comments on the profile picture even some Too indecent comments also don't get any reply's by the user.Sometimes,even a thank you could be seen.
In case you got a friend request from a celebrity,you definitely should give it a thought,coz derz no way he/shez gonna know you.Unless you yourself are a celebrity ;)
The wall! :
- whenever you visit their profile,you would notice that most of them are add feeds,ie., "abc is now friends with...." such kind of feeds

- And their wall would be full of posts like "thank you for adding me..."etc

- Most of these posts don't get any reply be the account user.
- The "Looking For" section is all checked (friendship, dating, a relationship, networking, and whatever I can get)!
- The "Interested In" section is all checked: (Women and Men)
- No family members could be listed,
Privacy:
- There would not be any privacy to any element in that profile.
Tagged!:
- It has many tagged photos from various users,most of them being from 3rd party apps,quotes etc.,but none of the pictures being realistic,like taking a snap with a friend,or something like that.
Friends with the whole world!:
- Got friends from many regions of the world,none specific.
- Though Facebook limits a user to have more than 5000 friends,its got as many as friend as possible.
- Profile says"studies at:abc" or "works at:xyz" but doesn't contain people who actually work there or study there.
- Many number of subscribers.

Others:
- There are many other things like joining in all the groups,rarely being online,Very less use of other apps etc.

Doubt any profile? :
- If you doubt any profile,just look up google for their profile picture.then you can decide wethere it is a fake profile or not.
- To use Google Image search follow the beloe steps:
- Then you can actually know who that picture originally belongs to.
The Profile ID:
Facebook does not allow people to get a facebook id untill they activate or register their mobile phones with there account,typically a fake account can be (propably) identified if it does not have any id except the default one.

Facebook recently introduced account verification for pages and some popular celebrity accounts.trusted accounts have a small check mark beside the name
What if i've found a Fake account?
- Then you can unfriend them if they are already friends with you,or reject therir request to be friends.
- Or you can even report it to facebook.
